95 an hour The Oberlin College Libraries invite applications for the position of Library Assistant III in the Art Library.
This is a full time, 12-month, continuing, Administrative Assistant position, reporting to the Head of the Art Library.
Responsibilities With the oversight of the Associate Director of Public Services and under the supervision of the Head of the Art Library, oversee a moderately large staff of student assistant workers, plan and coordinate the work of the department, and perform difficult library clerical duties.
Essential Job Functions Supervise circulation, reserve, and/or interlibrary loan operations, including the initiation of statistical reports and interpretation of library policies Supervise clerical operations Participate in departmental administrative matters, including preparing reports and other activities Collect, balance and deposit money received for fines, copy charges, losses paid and refunds; prepare delinquent borrower reports and process fines, holds and invoices Originate and maintain work routines and work flow May determine when books need to be mended or rebound Verify work processes including binding, and acquisitions Refer difficult reference or bibliographic questions to appropriate staff Oversee routine running of the library including schedules, equipment, supplies, work orders and student assistant staffing Hire, train, and supervise students across library-associated tasks Document library policies and procedures; maintain training materials Maintain a public service orientation, and ability to work a specified public service-oriented schedule In addition, staff members in this classification may also perform the work characteristics of the other Library Assistant classifications Marginal Job Functions Required Qualifications College degree or equivalent library experience, supervisory experience, and superior oral and written communication skills.
Keyboarding speed of 35 wpm with emphasis on accuracy.
When specific to posting, must demonstrate the ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs.
Desired Qualifications Visual arts background:
art studio, art history coursework, or significant experience in decorative arts or crafts.
Knowledge of library operations and classification systems.
Demonstrated ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment.
Demonstrated experience with automated library systems Demonstrated experience with social media and the promotion of events and services Office management experience including experience overseeing computers, printers, copiers, etc.
Compensation The Pay Grade 5 Administrative Assistant position is to be filled at a hourly rate of $23.
95 or at the appropriate transfer rate for internal candidates and includes an excellent benefits package.
Applicants chosen for interview will be contacted to take the following tests in the Human Resources Office:
Keyboarding, Basic Word, Basic Excel and Proofreading testing.
Candidates must pass all tests in order to be considered for an interview.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
