The Equity Coordinator will have a strong focus in Housing Development, Economic Development and Workforce Development within the Oberlin community.
The Equity Coordinator facilitates and promotes programs and initiatives related to the social equity plan of the community through strategy development, relationship building within the community and by fostering partnerships with relevant organizations in support of these goals.

The Equity Coordinator will work with relevant municipal departments, City Boards and Commissions, the Oberlin community and regional resources to develop, implement and promote various programs.
Primary Job Duties:
Social Equity Planning and Implementation Serve as staff support to the Human Relations Commission Serve as staff support to the Oberlin Underground Railroad Center Implementation Team Serve as the contract coordinator with Oberlin Community Services Serve as the contract coordinator with Oberlin Weekday Community Meals Program Promote the Oberlin Americans with Disabilities Act Ordinance Promote and facilitate the Oberlin LGBTQ Protection Ordinance Other duties and tasks as assigned Housing Development Evaluate and positively implement partnerships with nonprofit housing organizations for both housing construction and renovation programs Establish City focus on developing housing in the community, including socially equitable financing options and financial literacy, and address other social equity concerns related to housing Evaluate multi-family, housing cluster options, smaller owned homes, and multi-family rentals while continuing to expand housing opportunities at all price levels Promote and facilitate the Oberlin Fair Housing Ordinance Provide education and resources to facilitate landlord/tenant relations within the City Provide oversight of existing housing rehabilitation programs Economic Development Develop and implement a strategy that emphasizes the advantages of the location, available sites, labor market, and other data helpful to established and startup businesses, solo entrepreneurs, industries, and developers Provide entrepreneur training opportunities for businesses Visit industrial park businesses quarterly every year Develop, coordinate and implement economic development opportunities with State, County, and other agencies Workforce Development Develop, coordinate and implement workforce develop programs utilizing State, County, and other agencies Evaluate and potentially implement a partnership with Lorain County Community College and Lorain County Workforce Development Agency programs that positively impact Oberlin residents, employees, and employers Promote and administer the Oberlin Connector Job Type:
